Few are on top of their game the way Beyoncé Knowles is right now. With an impact reach beyond her music, Beyoncé consistently uses her platform to inspire countless fans with messages of empowerment.
Born in Texas in 1981 the American singer and performer is doing it all, as an an entrepreneur and business woman as well. Her career began as the lead vocalist of then renowned R&B group, Destiny’s Child where she was quickly discovered with a phenomenal voice and amazing performances. Beyoncé’s fortunes soared after she launched a solo career and swiftly set to smashing record after record. Her third solo album, I Am… Sasha Fierce (2008), nabbed her a record-setting six Grammy Awards in 2010, and spurred her to attain her coveted independence by taking over management of her own career.
Today, Beyoncé has sold 100 million solo records sold worldwide, making her one of the top selling music artists in history. She holds 22 Grammy Awards and is the most nominated woman in the history of the awards.
In 2014, Beyoncé attained a new summit steeped in its own special symbolism by becoming the highest paid black musician in history. That same year, she was named by Time magazine as one of the top 100 most influential people in the world for a second year running.
But wait, there’s more. The entrepreneur has built a tremendously powerful global brand, forming a major partnership with Adidas for her “athleisure” clothing brand Ivy Park. Beyonce has also released a Homecoming live album and documentary about her 2018 history-making Coachella performance.
