Born Scott Ramon Seguro Mescudi in Ohio 1994, Kid Cudi is an American rapper, singer, songwriter, record producer, actor and record executive. Widely recognized as an influence on several contemporary hip hop and alternative acts, the artists’ new wave of rap music has inspired many other musicians such as Kanye West, Travis Scott, and Kendrick Lamar
The rapper came to prominence following the release of his first mixtape titled A Kid Named Cudi in 2008 which caught the attention of rapper and producer Kanye West. Kanye signed Cudi to his GOOD Music label later that year.
Cudi has since gone on to launch his own record label imprints, the now-dissolved Dream On and current independent label Wicked Awesome Records. Cudi also ventured into acting when he was cast in the HBO series How to Make It in America, leading to his appearance in several feature films.
Today Kid Cudi has sold 16 million certified records in the United States and has won two Grammy Awards. He has also worked with some of music industry’s biggest artists such as Jay Z, Kanye West, Shakira, Mary J Blige and David Guetta.
