Born in 1999 in Louisiana, Kentrell DeSean Gaulden – known as NBA (Never Broke Again) YoungBoy – is an American rapper, singer, and songwriter who has quickly risen to fame through hard work and talent.
Between 2015 and 2017, Gaulden released eight independent mixtapes, which began the accumulation of a cult following as his work was shared across the world. YoungBoy was signed to Atlantic Records in 2017 and released two mixtapes before releasing his highest-charting solo single, Outside Today’ in January 2018. The song was the lead single for his debut studio album Until Death Call My Name (2018) which peaked at number seven on the US Billboard 200. Later that year, Gaulden released his second studio album Top (2020) which became his third chart topping album in less than one year.
In 2019, YoungBoy was on YouTube’s Top Music Artists list in the United States for the previous 101 weeks, making him the most-watched musician across all genres.
