Born Chancelor Johnathan Bennett in Illinois, 1993, Chance the Rapper is an American rapper, singer, songwriter, record producer, activist, actor and philanthropist. He began rapping in the sixth grade when his cousin let him use his studio. Chance the Rapper was a Michael Jackson fan and had also been inspired by Kanye’s debut album.

He gained recognition in 2013 after releasing his second mix tape Acid Rap.
